Bunting

Here's some happy birthday bunting for my niece Lottie.

I don't know what happens to photos in my phone, but somehow a lot of them end up... upside down... hmmm strange.

Cuzco Jewels

I have had two charm packs of Katie Spain's Cuzco for a little while and and I really didn't want to cut them up. So I decided to just sash them in white to showcase them and I am thrilled to bits with 'my' new quilt... though now I'll have to decorate so it fits in :0)
I quilted a simple stipple pattern all over and it looks great, I can't wait for it to have a few washes and become really tactile as well.
I backed and bound it in a cerise and orange butterfly backing.

Still a work in progress - More cushion covers

These are another two cushion covers for my sister - four down and two to go. I just can't fathom why it is, that as soon as I have to do it I don't want to.
Maybe my inner creative child is a petulant one, but I am really struggling with these and can't wait for them to be finished.

Works in progress...

These are two of the six cushion covers I am making for my sister... her request was that they be cream and red, I'm using all the same cream (even though the pictures show that it's different - It's like a calico) so I can use some different reds, so far, so good (I think). She's home from Oz for a couple of months and staying at my parents and I'll see her in about 6 weeks.

I'm linking up with Freemotion by the River today

Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River

How cute is this!

I saw some really cute little 'hanging things' and thought I'd have a go and a I love how it turned out, a cute little log cabin that is 2" big, I can't stop squeezing it.... I feel a mini quilt coming on!!

Kate Spain Blog Hog - How exciting

Oh my word - a blog hop about Kate Spain - now, until last year I didn't realise that fabric came in collections, I knew they made some with similar colours and all so that they matched etc etc, so you could make quilts with similar colours, but as I'd always made scrap quilts it didn't really matter to me - until I got shown the Cuzco range in jelly rolls, charm packs and layer cakes - I was really excited by it and so far it's still the only collection that I can honestly say 'I LOVE' and have actively gone looking for, I usually just look at a website or in a shop and see what I like, but not for this.
Last night I was looking over a pattern I'd printed off from the Moda bakeshop - it's a pattern for a little girls dress and blow me down it was Kate Spain's Good fortune collection - so now I'm going to have to go and source some of that...

I am really happy to link up my 'as yet to be finished' scrappy trip around the world - I'm undecided about how to finish it yet, maybe make it larger and bind it or put a border on with a charm pack... decisions - it will come to me.

This is a little bag I made with a few of the leftover strips from the jelly roll.

And this is what arrived in the post this morning ready to start making a quilt for my friends wedding in September, he likes blues and she likes purples and lilacs - so I think I've got it covered.  Very, very excited person here!!

Messenger bag

After I made my backpack, someone saw it and wanted a messenger bag in the same colours. So here it is. I used a heavy brown cord for the rest of the bag.

The front pouch is foundation pieced on grease proof paper.
